Cold, cold, cold! Winter is finally showing up here in Vermont. We visited Shelburne Farms this week and were able to take some great photos of the natural landscape. My favorite part of the trip was the animals. I spent a good thirty minutes trying to capture that perfect photo of a chicken. Surprisingly enough they were quite photogenic and didn't seem to get too frightened, even when I had my lens within a foot of the chicken. This photo below was probably the best shot I got of the chickens. I think it really captures the movement of the birds with their blurred tail feathers. The best part, in my opinion is the two birds fighting by the bucket, I think they both wanted the same piece of chicken feed, even though there was plenty more.

The trip got better and better as we travelled from the Barn Inn towards the back side of the Barn and out by more wildlife. I was able to snap this photo of the Barns solar panel array. I think it really highlights Shelburne farms environmental initiatives in a beautiful way.
